My First Big Layout!

This is my first attempt at a layout. I have always admired Yvonne's layouts and I know this one is not even close to that, but its a start...and now I can't wait to do more.......
I made this for my office newsletter, this month they requested for a hand written or hand made entry on an A4 size sheet. This is also my entry for the card making event at kalalayaa's artclub. This blog is by an extremely talented lady who is an expert in all kinds of crafts. Do check out her work here. I know I am extremely late for the event (I hope she doesn't mind!)

The cardboard flower and the alphabets are hand cut.

Merry Xmas!!

Gift Tags

I hope you had a good weekend. Mine was baaaad, other than the fact that I met a friend after a long time. This weekend was one of those times when my weekend is more hectic than the weekdays. On Monday I am left with a terrible back ache and a dazed feeling which will last all through today, and possibly for a few more days (if I don't sleep well)........anyway enough of whining........I did make some Christmas cards, will be posting pictures of those soon. Till then here a few gift tags which I made some weeks ago.
Have a great week!!

Life is Beautiful

This one is inspired by this week's challenge at Daring Cardmakers "Its polka-dot week! Lets bring some warmth to our cards with polka dots, but I don't mean spots or dots in a variety of sizes, it has to be specifically polka-dots (i.e. a pattern of dots of equal size, equally spaced). However, you can have whatever colour(s) you choose as long as your card doesn't look cold and wintry!!"

I have added some hand cut glitter flowers to add a bright touch. Thank you Yvonne for the dotted ribbon!
This is also based on this week's Card Patterns Sketch

Blue!!

It isn't never really cold in Bangalore, in fact at times it is quite hot during the day, but seeing so many wintry cards with snow flakes and snowmen.....I just had to make one. Well I didn't have snowflakes or snowmen so I used flowers ans a butterfly instead!

This is inspired by Card Patterns sketch #45.Thanks for visiting!

No Flowers or Ribbons!!

I use flowers and ribbons on most of my cards. So here is one without either of these.

Say it in "Sepia"

This card is inspired by Daring Cardmakers challenge "Say it in Sepia". What they want is "Thank you" cards in brown/white or brown/cream, I forgot about this and made a "Season's Greeting" card instead :( (I hope the DT wont mind).
The base card stock is some beautiful handmade paper with real dried rose petals embedded in it.

My First Christmas Card

This design had been on my mind since I saw last week's challenge at Daring Cardmakers. But somehow I could only complete it last night. The challenge was to make a Christmas card in white with a hint of another color.
I have cut out the Christmas tree in golden corrugated cardboard (I have had it with me since a long time and could not figure out where to use it until now). I have used tiny pearls for the decoration (thanks Yvonne!). I got the golden bells from a craft and embroidery store in Jabalpur, I got some silver bells too, I just love them!

You make me smile

This is inspired by Card patterns sketch #43. I flipped the sketch around. I loved this week's sketch cause it lets me use left over scraps. I like this sketch so much that I am surely going to make more cards based on this. The picture came out blurred. Will take another one and post it soon.

Black, White and Red

This is one of my favorite color combos, adds a dramatic effect to an otherwise simple design.
I have the Lady bugs from Jordan on this one, aren't they cute?
