Turquoise and Brown

Just a quick blogpost before we move. We will be moving to our new place by Sunday, I spent the whole of today in packing my craft supplies, I am totally over whelmed with the amount of craft supplies I have collected over the last four years. I began the day with carefully categorizing and packing my supplies but quickly realized it would take me atleast a week's time to finish if I continued like that. I eventually landed up dumping everything in cartons, I have no idea about what is where which means unpacking will be a nightmare. I am also not sure when internet is going to be up there.
Anyway now to the card........I  made this card for my Mother-in-Law's birthday. The chair is a rub-on which I got as a free gift with a purchase from Piali.

A Happy Card

Here is a quick, happy and trendy card I made, I say trendy because  it has neon colors and a chevron background both of which are hot trends at the moment.

For the Love of crafting Challenge #10

This months challenge at the "For the Love of Crafting" challenge blog is a color grid which goes something like this

The DT has come up with some amazing cards, excluding mine, I cringed when I saw my card compared with what the rest of the DT has come up with. Actually the card is not so bad IRL...as you can see I have chosen the purple, green and silver column. Love the shimmer of the PieLane glitter chevron strips.....
I guess I have completely lost my card making mojo.....DH is not in town n Kriti is not well which keeps me on my toes all the time, I am hardly getting any sleep.........anyway I know I am not alone, every parent goes through this....

This used to be a....

There is a fun challenge going on at the Lulupu blog this month.....in the words of DT member Nikita it goes something like this
"Select any article/object of your choice, add your magic to it  and transform it into something completely different. The only consideration is that the end result should be NOTHING like what it was before. So its important you post a BEFORE and a AFTER picture for the DT to judge. We are looking for some real transformation and not just the routine craft recycle stuff!! Your basic article can be any size or shape..just about anything that catches your fancy. "
I transformed this glass jar into something more interesting...check out my post at the Lulupu blog for more details.
Go ahead and visit the Lulupu blog to see what interesting projects the rest of the DT has come up with and participate in the challenge.

3mik.com

I recently came across an interesting site called 3mik.com, it is a platform to share and discover all things Indian. It could be anything, from places to eat to art/home decor products, gadgets anything you can (or cannot) think of. You can collect and group things that interest you or browse what others have shared. All entries come with a link to the website and location, which comes in handy if you are looking for something specific in your city (only major Indian cities covered here though).
It is more like an Indian version of Pinterest with an added feature of sharing and browsing current trends especially in the fashion/home decor space specific to your city + it is not banned in my office while Pinterest is :P
I found sharing sites on the portal to be extremely easy and its super fun and addictive to browse what others have shared. I found some really interesting stuff on 3mik.com like this gorgeous paper flower vase
and this bright and happy mat
or this cute Owl stuffed toy.
I also found some of my favorite crafter's blogs also featured on it.

Handmade Cards for Diwali

Yeah I know Diwali is still more than 2 months away...I made a set of Diwali cards on request. I decided to keep a few for myself to send out to friends and family this year, will probably make a few more cause I absolutely love how they turned out....
I've used PieLane Ganpati Stencil for card no 1, I've embossed with the stencil and then colored with distress inks. The tutorial of this procedure can be found here.
The flame of the diya/lamp in the rest of the cards is handcut. The diya base is half of a 2" punched circle.
